Privacy policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

In short: Bambu Tag has no account and no server: what you read and write on your tags stays on your phone. The app does show ads provided by Google AdMob, which involve Google collecting an advertising ID. That collection only concerns ad delivery, never your tags or your content.

1. Publisher

Bambu Tag is developed and published by an independent developer, Olivier. Contact: olivier3dprint@gmail.com.

2. Data processed on your phone

To work, the app processes the following data on your device only:

None of this data is sent to a server, to the developer or to a third party. The app contains no user account, no analytics and no external crash reporting. The “Clear remembered content” button in the options, or uninstalling, deletes this data.

3. Location

Location permission is requested only when you tap “Use the current Wi-Fi” (Android requires it to provide the network name) or “Current position” to write your coordinates on a tag. The value obtained is used on the device to fill in the form; it is not kept beyond the content you choose to write, and is not transmitted.

4. What a tag you write contains

Content written to an NFC tag is not protected: anyone who has the tag can read it with a phone. Do not write confidential information on it, and keep a Wi-Fi password for a tag you keep at home.

5. Permissions requested

6. Advertising and third parties

The app shows banners provided by Google AdMob. To select and deliver these ads, the SDK may collect an advertising ID and standard technical data (device type, Android version, approximate IP address). Google processes this data under its privacy policy and its AdMob ads page.

For people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) is shown before the first ad. Declining personalised ads never prevents using the app: non-personalised ads are shown instead. You can change this choice at any time in Options → Manage my privacy preferences.

Apart from the advertising SDK, the app shares no data with third parties.

7. Children

The app is not specifically directed at children and is not intended for under-13s. It does not itself collect any personal data.

8. Your rights

Since the app's data is only on your phone, you control it directly: view it in the app, delete it in the options or by uninstalling. For data processed by Google for advertising, you can manage your preferences in the app and in Android settings (Google → Ads).

9. Changes

This policy may be updated if the app evolves. Any change will be published on this page, with the date above.
